Poetry & Creative Writing

My poetry & creative writing are inspired by the quotidian as a place of struggle, joy, pleasure, and transformation. I write about the vibrant complexities of everyday life and about thriving en la locura de esta vida!

I started writing as a kid and got into poetry during graduate school at the University of New Mexico. Special shoutout to Jessica Helen Lopez, Brandy Montaño, Eva Crespin, Levi Romero, Manuel González, and all the Burqueña/o/x poets that hella inspired me!! Writing felt good, it calmed and grounded me. But I didn’t realize how healing it was, or that I was writing out of necessity. Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit and writing became survivance – survival through passion, joy, celebration, and liberation. I found myself bubbling with emotions & ideas and finally gave myself permission to cultivate my writing and creative projects.

I hope my words and art can inspire others to cultivate their own gifts and intervene in this world.
